Looting System Empty Looting System

Orphanarium Loot

The loot system we use as a guild is a modified rotation system. Many hardcore raiding guilds use DKP bidding to decide who receives loot, while others use a traditional /roll and let luck decide. We as officers are strongly against DKP and feel that both of these systems are often unfair.

Our loot system is based off of a ‘priority’ list, which is maintained by the officers. Here is a quick run-through of how it works:

Every active raider is placed on the list. Your loot priority is determined by your current standing on the list. The higher up on the list you are, the more priority you have to receive any item that drops. New raiders start off at the bottom of the list, but can begin bidding on loot immediately.

When a raider receives loot, that player is moved to the bottom of the list, and everyone else in the raid shifts up one spot, assuming the position of the closest raid member above them on the list. (See Example)

If you do not attend a raid, your location on the list will not change. Only those players who are in the raid or on standby will have their loot standing rotated (for more information on raid standby, please refer to the Guild Policy section).

Example:

Consider the following list:

character A
character B
character C
character D
character E
character F

Now let’s say people A, B, C and E all attend the raid, but D and F do not. While in raid, an item drops that B, C and E decide to bid on. Since B is the highest on the list and thus has priority, they will receive the piece of loot. Person B is then moved to the bottom of the list, which would then look like:

character A
character C
character E
character D
character B
character F

Notice how only people B, C and E were rotated.

Players may only bid on items for their main spec. If at any time no one bids on a drop, the raid leader will provide the opportunity for all raid members to /roll on the item for off-spec. In this situation, winning an item will not affect a player’s position on the loot list.

The list will not be posted on the forums, but it can be viewed in-game by downloading and installing “Suicide Kings Geo.”
