Raiding Rotation and Loot System Empty Raiding Rotation and Loot System

Hello Orphans!

First of all, awesome job downing Rage Winterchill in Hyjal tonight! Excellent progression so far. Let's keep up the pace.

Ok down to business, there's been some discussion and possibly some confusion on how we are handling raid spots. We are a casual guild with a serious love of raiding. We are not a hardcore raiding guild. We're here to have fun and have lives outside of WoW. Because we do not require people to attend a specific number of raids each week to remain on active raider status, we don't always know exactly how many raiders of each class and spec will show up for raids. So to mitigate this uncertainty, we need to have more guildies representing each class and spec than is necessary to run a 25-man raid to make sure that there are enough guildies to get the raid going. The only downside of this is that there will be days when there are more guildies on than spots available in the raid. We will do our best to rotate between guildies to make sure everyone gets the opportunity to raid as often as possible. We do not guarantee spots to anyone for any reason so please don't ask.

Raid times are Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday at 5:30 - 10:00 pm server time. Please be on your main, in Shattrath, and ready to raid. It is important that you show up on time. It is essential that each guildie seeking a spot in the raid be appropriately geared for that level of raid. That means PVE spec and PVE gear comprised predominantly of gear from the previous raiding level, i.e. T4 gear to do a T5 raid. A major part of our successful progress has been based on taking as many appropriately geared spots as possible.

Last issue to discuss is the loot list. The mod we use to keep up with the list is called Suicide Kings Geo. It needs to be synched with Platewalrus's to work. Here's how the loot system works. There is a master list of everyone that has been on a 25-man raid with us. New guildies will be added when they raid for the first time and they will start out at the bottom of the list. When an item drops, all guildies with an interest in the item for a main spec upgrade will be asked to type "bid" in raid chat. The player who is highest on the list that needs for main spec will get the item. You cannot pass on a main spec raid item, however, if it isn't really an upgrade and is more of just a sidegrade, you will remain in the same spot if you take the item. This circumstance will only arise if no one else needs it as an upgrade for main spec. The winner will be moved to the bottom of the list. All players attending the raid or on standby will move up the list. Players who do not attend the remain will remain in the same place. Which brings me to standby. If you don't get a spot in the raid, there will be instructions posted in Gchat on how to be added to the standby list. If someone drops from the raid, you will be expected to take their place. You can be on an alt doing whatever, just as long as the raid leader knows how to contact you if you're needed. The list moves surprisingly fast.
